Welcome to the Hyer Preschool Association

About the Hyer Preschool Association

The Hyer Preschool Association (HPA) is an organization of families with young children - infants through kindergarten - who live in the Robert S. Hyer district of the Highland Park ISD.  The HPA was founded in 1954 and is now in its 62nd year.  The HPA provides an important role in the Hyer community as it supports the intellectual, social, and emotional development and well-being of both children and parents through monthly meetings, playgroups, children's activities and parents-only social events.  In addition, the HPA plays a large role in supporting Hyer's established excellence in education through our annual fundraising efforts.  Membership is open to all mothers in the Hyer district with infants through children entering Kindergarten in Fall 2016 and welcomes children of all abilities.

Throughout the year the HPA hosts monthly member meetings and organizes children's parties, playgroups, parties for incoming kindergarteners, mom's nights out, and parent mixers.  See the Meetings and Events page for more information on these exciting events and activities.

The Happy Hollydays Bazaar was the HPA's annual fundraiser benefiting Hyer Elementary.  Our last event was in 2015 and the HPA gifted $113,000 (net proceeds from the Bazaar) to our beloved school, which will help in part to continue the school's one-to-one technology initiative, providing laptops or tablets for every student.   The HPA is currently reviewing other fundraising opportunities to implement in the future
